Possible Fatal Errors when starting the program:
Fatal Error 001 : Cannot initialize the ASPI system
Windows versions: 95,98,ME , and NT/2000/XP when selecting ASPI as access method.
Solution in Windows 95,98,ME : this error happens when the ASPI drivers are invalid. To solve this you need to install the ASPI drivers in your system. Please go to http://www.naltech.com/aspi.htm for information up to date on how to install the ASPI drivers.
Solution in Windows NT,2000,XP: tthis error happens when selecting ASPI drivers as a access method and there is no ASPI driver installed or there is an invalid ASPI drivers. To solve this you can download the version of CD/DVD Data Rescue installer with the Adaptec ASPI drivers update (for windows 98,ME,NT,2000 and XP) , or install a valid ASPI drivers. Fatal Error 002 : Cannot initialize the system
Windows versions:NT/2000/XP. This error can be due to an incompatibility with another program or driver isntalled. It can be solved by installing the adaptec ASPI drivers.
To install adaptect ASPI drivers please go to http://www.naltech.com/aspi.htm and download the version of CD/DVD Data Rescue installer with the Adaptec ASPI drivers update (for windows 98,ME,NT,2000 and XP) , or install a valid ASPI drivers.
After installing the ASPI drivers update, please select ASPI in the Windows NT/2000/XP configuration program: "aconfig.exe". you can find it in the folder where CD/DVD Data Rescue is installed, usually C:\program files\cddr. Fatal Error 003 : This software needs administrator rights
Windows versions: NT/2000/XP.
This error happens when executing the program from a user account. It can be solved executing the program from an administrator account, and also by installing the ASPI drivers and after that selecting ASPI as access method. Please see "fatal error 002" to see how to install ASPI drivers and select the ASPI access method with the program "aconfig.exe".
